REM Wisconsin is seeking Direct Support Professionals/Caregivers to provide assistance to children with disabilities in a community-based setting. DSPs provide assistance with daily activities such as meal preparation and planning; medication administration; and personal care. DSPs may also facilitate community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings in the community or providing transportation to work or other activities. In addition, DSPs support therapeutic and behavioral plans in partnership with clinical staff to enhance the quality of life for those we support. Qualifications Requirements : High school diploma or GED Must be 21 years of age Valid drivera€ (TM) s license in good standing Car registration and vehicle insurance if providing transportation for individuals receiving services Six months of experience in human services preferred Successful clearance of local and/or state background checks In addition, to qualify to work in these programs, you must meet at least one of the following criteria as well: Be enrolled in (or graduated from) an accredited university or technical college in a related field. Have a CNA license. Have at least one year previous experience working with children with special needs. Be a licensed child care provider.
